Hopefully this attachment will come through.
I'm getting a extra character just before the carriage of my M28 gets back
to the left margin. It seems it is always an "I" if the machine in in LTRS
shift and an "8" if in figs shift. And also only when returning from longer
lines.
In the attached photo you can see the "8" in the word "COUNT" and the "I" in
the words "HENRI" and "FRENCH."
I'm sure someone out there has seen this and knows what the problem might
be..

Hi Steve
I am at least 100 years away from being an expert on 28's but could it be that the selected mechanic's for " I " and " 8 " are slightly engaged - in other words slightly stuck? I know, it does not make any sense, right?
I would print several lines with " I " and " 8 " and see what happens. Maybe something is slightly engaged and will free after the exercise.
What the heck do I know -:(

The site from which I've sourced most of the art I've used is here:
http://artscene.textfiles.com/rtty/.
There's quite a bit there, and much of it utilizes overstrike. It was all
passed around from hams who trasmitted/received it over RTTY at some point
through the decades. Many of them have the callsigns of the hams who
originated them and the years that they were originated. I know there are
at least a few space-themed ones, too, of which I understand you're on the
hunt. The categorization isn't extremely good, so it does take some
hunting, but there are some really good ones in there.
There are a fair amount of nudes in this collection, but they're usually
pretty obvious from the title (if it's a girl's name, that's a good
tip-off), so you'll know to avoid them (or gravitate to them, as the case
may be). I'm personally not appreciative of them and don't use them. Call
me a prude if you will. I can take the flak.

Hi Steve and all:
IMHO, if you have 2 CR before the LF, I suggest you? go with the rept. key with CRs to see if you are picking up the 3rd bit here and there.

Some time ago I got a. Number of TTY graphics tapes from an estate sale.** About half of the roughly 100 tapes are in the hands of Tom Tillson in Poughkeepsie. The rest are in storage and not accessible to me for now. (At least they are safe!) I think that the tapes Tom has are from the last part of the alphabet. Hopefully he can let us know what he has.
Here are space related tapes from the list I made:
Title Source Length
Apollo - Saturn V Rocket WA6YUF 1:12:05
(That?s an hour and 12 minutes, I assume at 60 WPM!)
Cylon Raider K7YNC 12:00
Darth Vader (Star Wars) K7YNC 17:00
Flying Deer 2 Parts, Parts 1 and 2 21:00
Gemini Tokyo Tokyo A.P. 54:00
Imperial Trooper Star Wars K7YNC 17:00
"Klingon Battle Cruiser ""Star Trek"" 3 parts, Parts 1 & 2 and 3?
I just discovered a check list of the tapes he has. It includes these:
Moon K3SEW 7:00 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Mooney Airplane WA2OLW 23:00 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Pooh Looks for the USA Astronauts on the Moon WA9RNO 12:00 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Space 1999 W2PSU ? WA2PSU 11:00 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Star Wars Luke Skywalker K7YNC 21:00 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
**
Most of these tapes are from the estate of Walter J. Stewart W4UBE, acquired about 2000.
(Jan, 2014, W4UBE is not now listed at QRZ.com)

That is perfect. Alas it doesn?t have a good categorization or index, so I?ve started trying to build one (specifically to eliminate anything which would be inappropriate for the high school students..). So far I?ve managed to categorize 246/1733 of them..

Hi Everyone,
I think there is a Model 15 on the Facebook marketplace area. It looks like the machine is in Columbus, IN. It's listed as $200.00 but the guy offered it to me for $100.00 when I suggested he add Model 15 to the listing to help sell it.

Steve and fellow GreenKeyers,
The TM manual covers the TT-122A and TT-123. The differences in the machines
are: TM-122A has a synchronous motor (115W, 115V, 60 cps) and the TT-123 has
a series governed motor (184W, 105 - 125V, 50 - 60 cps).

There may be other manuals, these are the ones in my library.
I am happy to scan the manuals. Is there a repository that everyone has easy

I never received TTYTom's email (at least not yet) did others get it
through Greenkeys??
Tom, I think the main KLI TTY manual repository is
http://rattrig.com/manuals/tm's.htm
Navy-Radio.com is hosting the 1970 KLI Military catalog and I think the
Navy may have used KLI machines occasionally. (I thought I saw a KLI
machine somewhere on Navy-Radio.com, but of course I can't find it now.)
Have fun,

Greetings fellow Greenkeyers.
We are approaching an interesting dilemma. Equipment is becoming available and there may be limited to no interest in it. What is the alternative? Dare I say the word ? landfill? And what if someone comes along in six months new to our group? They won?t be able to get anything if it is all ?gone?.
Some of us (me included) are trying to save what we can for future members, tucking things away in our houses or storage sheds. But the scary reality seems to be that interest in mechanical hardware is fading. How many future members will there be? Will we get to a point where nobody wants this equipment that we hold in high regard?
To that end, I am volunteering to assemble a list of who wants what and try to get that to those who have equipment. I?d like to start with whole items (teletypes, repress, modems/TUs etc) and NOT get into parts (copy holders, chad boxes, etc) at this time.
For those who are looking for something (whole items), I?d be glad to put on on this list and serve as a broker for those trying to dispose of equipment (including the estates of those who have passed on). Please feel free to contact me on or off-list with your wishes and indicate if you are wanting these times fully restored, in working condition, in unknown or not working condition (where you are planning to do the restoration work).

Hey Paul,
I've emailed you in the past, but sometimes I'm unsure if my messages make
it through to you. It always seems to make it through spam filters as long
as it's through the list, so I'm just sending this publicly to make sure
you got my private email sent to you a few moments ago.
Thanks.

GA OMs;
Paul - thanx for coming up with the idea.
If there was a complete model 15 in S. California,
I'd be interested in it. If there was one in one of
the neighboring states, I'd look into it.
But, in any case, I copied your e-mail into my RTTY folder
so that if something comes up, I can e-mail you.

I had similar thoughts about vintage computers, I think we just need to advertise a little. I aim to advertise at makers faire and computer stores, perhaps linking greenkeys with VCF will help in both directions??

Transportation often seems to be a big stumbling block. If people have some
extra garage space to act as a temporary (less than 6 months?) storage
depot, please let Paul and the list know. Maybe there is some way to get a
machine to a "depot", then later to another "depot", and then on to its
destination. The more depots we have scattered about, the more likely we
can save some machines.
I'll start -
I can store some machines in Chapel Hill NC and likely transport to/from
Richmond (Feb), Charlotte (Mar), Dayton (May), and Atlanta (Nov) hamfests.
Step right up, don't be shy!
