[GreenKeys] RTTY Roundup - musings

Perhaps what is needed is a second event, maybe a week-end ahead or week-end after the present RTTY Roundup,
limited to 'heavy metal' people, With a strict requirement of the use of CR and LF functions to provide
reasonably clean copy on all receiving ends, to the limit of the stations's capability.
Contacts don't have to be long and drawn out, but the exchange of name, QTH and a reasonably close Signal
Report, as opposed to the typical contest, "599". Signal Reports do mean something, and a "599" should
only be used for those signals that literally pin the "S"-Meter and provide 100% or near 100% copy.
QRM can mess things up, but those three letters can also be part of a signal report.
Just some thoughts from a guy who has not been on the air with RTTY since the old Autostart days on
3.6375 MHz in the 60s and 70s.
73, and my hat's off to those who took the time to participate or even tune around.

If these aren't just pieces of AI software talking to each other, there must be some fanatical ops hitting no more than one key per exchange. I would say mouse click, but I don't think you could move a mouse fast enough....
