The answer is no. No characters are lost. The Auto CR LF function is
purely mechanical and the selector magnets continue to receive and decode
the message. The Model 28 is so well designed that the CR occurs very
quickly. Now, you might see a character appear on the left hand side of
the page printer and not completely in line with the first character of the
previous line. But, you can still see what was sent.
