[GreenKeys] Shipping a Flexowriter - Tips for shipper

Ooof, Flexowriters are real back-breakers. I'd suggest cutting plywood to
size a littler larger than the footprint of the machine and using the
mounting holes for the 4 rubber feet to bolt it down. I'd leave the feet on
it and just use longer bolts and fender washers through the ply. Next would
be to secure the carriage from moving. As far as I know there's no lock,
perhaps it could be wired tight. Packing tape or celaphane wrap around the
works would keep the relay cover on the rear and the type basket cover on
and also help restrain the carriage. Maybe do that before bolting it down.

If shipping LTL, drop it all into a cardboard box and screw the ply down to
a small pallet through the bottom of the box. Fill with bubble wrap or
peanuts and seal it up.

Short of that or pony express, getting it in one piece will prove
challenging. Even though FedEx ground will take large, heavy packages (90
lbs?). They also like to drop said large, heavy packages, usually on a
corner. Or if you're lucky, they'll just roll the box around. -C
