Jim, et al,

If you had saved them as png files instead of jpg, they would be 66k 
instead of 3 Mb.

JPG is fine for photographs which is what it was intended for but not 
good for circuit diagrams an drawings.

The jpg compression inserts all the fuzziness around images also if you 
save it as 2 colours instead of 256 colours will save a lot.

Please see attached example.
