  Boy that title sounded familiar and sure enough, that's the circuit I 
used.   Very clever how the hardware was so minimal yet worked just 
fine.   I wouldn't have known enough about the IO Selectric to figure 
out how to use the CK line that way ;-)    It would be easy to use an 
Arduino to drive this logic nowadays and have a serial interface, but 
no, I'm not interested in going back there!

It is a kick to look back thru the early days of "home computers" in 
these old Kilobaud magazines, however.  All of Wayne Green's magazines 
had a good combination of hardware, software, educational, and industry 
information.   I even saw a product announcement I wrote back in '78  ;-)
