[GreenKeys] Model 14KTR question

I'm slowly restoring a Mod 14 KTR chadless typing reperf - the machine 
that is found sitting on a 'bridge' over the TD of a Model 19 set.

This machine sat for decades unused, and it is the usual gummy stuck mess.

I've got the type basket and code bars free - the machine is running 
basically, the rangefinder had to be completely taken apart, cleaned and 
reassembled -

So I think the punch is working (I've yet to reload the tape) but the 
bail that snags the type-bar barbs does not move, thus no typing.

I don't have adequate doc on this model, so before I remove the motor 
and other parts (not trivial) - my question is:

Is this a bug, or a feature? Can the typing be disabled and only the 
punch operate? Or, as I suspect, is there another stuck clutch that 
needs TLC?


I thought I'd ask before I dig into the machine any further.
