You're missing the point.
Sure, you can change the speed MMTTY is running at to the
correct speed.
Just like you could change gear sets and make your machine run
at the correct speed.
But if you're listening to a signal running 66WPM, you are NOT
going to be able to copy it if you're running 60WPM.

UARTs do NOT have rangefinders. You can't twiddle a UART to
copy the wrong speed.
