WESTCOAST TELETYPE ENTHUSIASTS AND GreenKeyers - - -

Apparently my message dated the 12th of April was not transmitted by
my e-mail system.

I am re-sending it in hopes of getting some manner of response from
those on my West Coast List.

The following is a re-post of my message to everyone, and hopefully
those on the West Coast will reply as to whether or not they can make it
to the Portland activity.

Easter weekend, April 20 and 21, Teletype collectors, GreenKeyers and
other enthusiasts will be working in Portland, Oregon, to inventory and
manage the Pete Lancashire Teletype Legacy he has bequeathed to the
Amateur Teletype Community.

Mr. Steve Teegarden, the conservator of Pete's estate, is anxious to get
moving on the task of preparing the house for new tenants, and needs the
space to be freed-up for non-teletype stuff.

It has been asked that we keep clear of the house, save for potty breaks
and removal of teletype related items.

A 26-foot Penske Box Truck has been rented for this event.

We will be emptying a Shipping Container, Garage, Back Porch, Basement,
and the main floor of Pete's residence in which a large collection of
all manner of teletype related equipment, electronics, manuals, parts,
paper, tape, and other items have been accumulated.

Boxes and packing materials will be provided for use as necessary.

Participants have been asked to bring clothing such that one can work
whatever the weather, be it rain or sunshine, and which may become
stained, torn, greasy, etc. Footwear and gloves so as to minimize
falls, slips, and injuries is also advised.

We plan on the pace being steady, but not rushing, and regular breaks
and meals will be taken so as to insure conservation of body and spirit
for the ongoing tasks. Chilled water and soft drinks will be available.

Participation in this event will assure attendees that some artifacts
peculiar to the teletype hobby will be available for being spirited away
to their garages, workshops, radio rooms and hidey holes.

It is unknown just how long the task will take, but myself and buddy
Alan Lynn will stay at The Palms Motel, which is about a mile
south of of Pete's, on Interstate Avenue. We will try and arrange a rate
discount of some sort, but it is usually about 50 dollars per night per
person.

Some folks local to the area probably will want to just go home and come
back on Sunday, if the need is there.

It is acknowledged that this activity will be on Easter Weekend, and
those attendees who wish to take some time or all of Sunday to celebrate
Easter, please do so.

We will be working in a relatively quiet residential area, and parking
is sort of first-come, first served.

Pete's address is 5520 North Concord Avenue, Portland Oregon.

North Concord Avenue is one block west of Interstate Avenue, a major
Trolley Served Street North of the main Portland Metroplex.

A major cross street is North Killingsworth, and North Concord is a long
block west on Killingsworth, which runs east and west.

From the North, Interstate 5 exit 303 will get you to North Killingsworth.

When you reach North Killingsworth, turn right and go until you reach
Interstate avenue. Cross both sets of trolley tracks and proceed one
block and turn right onto North Concord, and Pete's is the second house
on the right.

From the south, I-5 Exit 303 will get you on North Missouri Street, and
there is a stop at Killingsworth.

Turn Left on Killingsworth, go west and cross the tracks at Interstate,
and North Concord is the first cross street. Turn right and again,
Pete's is the second house on the right.

Should anyone have any questions or wish to otherwise comment or discuss
things, please give me a call.

House phone is 360-683-3235. Cell is 360-775-1128

Looking to hearing from or seeing you there.

George - W7TTY
