Nick,
You did well then.
Good guess about the printing issue. I bought three (one new and three
spares) recently from a guy here in kalifornia that sells such things.
Contact Paul at Mr_Rtty. You'll need teletype part numbers for anything you
ask for, the number for the Platten Insert you need is 111603. He has a
minimum order, so you may need to find some other things to spruce up your
rig.

never need one again.....

Subject: [GreenKeys] Model 14 Reperf
Hi All,
I have been restoring a Model 14 typing reperf and have a question that has
no doubt been answered a zillion times. I'm new to Greenkeys and don't yet
understand how to effectively search past postings. The reperf itself works
fine, except the type hammers are not making legible printing on the tape.
The ribbon is new and freshly reinked (judging by the amount of ink
absorbed by this OMs finger tips). Current assessment is that the small,
round platen has been beaten into near oblivion after decades of use. So,
what have you guys used to replace a worn M14 platen? It is rather small in
diameter and apparently was of a fairly resilient material. All suggestions
are appreciated.
