Another possibility is a distributor, I think it may be coded LD, that
mounts on a Model 28 printer base.  Seems like one was on ebay within
the past year or two, maybe was Jack who as selling it, or maybe he
bought it.

These could be used for any time you have information in parallel form
that you want to send to a telegraph circuit or a printer.  Such as a
message numbering module, or using the printer with a computer that
puts out parallel wire code.  I remember the venerable Burroughs 220
used a Model 28 RO as the console printer, and had a distributor on the
base that was fed from a circuit with a bunch of relays that converted
computer code into something printable.  Not Baudot/Murray however, it
was scrambled compared to the standard Model 28.
