[GreenKeys] Dovetron TU question - keying a transmitter

Hi Guys - Thanks for all the responses. I just assumed there have to be a
PTT output but I guess there wasn't. I came late to the Teletype game and
am just now starting to put together pieces with which to transmit.

All the Navy AFSK TU units include a PTT output to key a transmitter or
transceiver, even the 1950 AN/SGC-1 with octal tubes. So I figured that ham
gear would have included PTT too.

As Ken says, I should be able to find a spot within the Dovetron to tap
into - since internally it clearly does exactly what I want - if I type it
sends the AFSK tones and then a few blanks for a bit before returning to
receive mode - I guess my unit must have the KOS option.

In the mean time, I'll bolt a switch box onto the ASR - the standard Navy
C-1004/SG control box has two modes
1) AFSK ("Tone" in Navy-speak) which expects the TU to handle transmitter
PTT
2) FSK ("CFS"- Carrier Frequency Shift) where the user manually switches
from receive to transmit and there are separate FSK keyer and FSK receive
converter loops.
