Yes, Irv was a great promoter of RTTY, it's just sad that so many people
thought RTTY history began with him and ignore the ones before him who
worked so hard.  W6NRM/W9TCJ made long car trips all over the US helping
hams get started in RTTY, and others did much in their local areas.

For a long time ARRL was more or less opposed to RTTY.  Then when there
was a demand for RTTY material in QST was about that time Irv came along
and wrote a bunch of articles.  So a great many hams were unaware of all
that had come before him.
