[GreenKeys] RO base noise

So I got a cap from Nick and got the LMU-3 running with no funny noises. 
  Put it on the RO base and the intermediate gear assy. put out a 
tic-tic noise.  Gear mesh seems fine.  Turning by hand exhibited no 
binding or any clues.  Will a bad or dry bearing make that kind of 
noise?  Would have tried a little oil and grease in the proper places, 
but ran out of time.  Maybe I'm a pessimist, but I'm not banking on 
lubrication to stop the noise.  (100WPM gears)

Probably won't get any look at it until after Thanksgiving.  (Shouldn't 
there be an age limit on having to travel for Thanksgiving?)

Suggestions?
