Subject: [GreenKeys] TTY equipment stash
Hi Dudes and Dudettes,
I am an Old Timer on RTTY however have not been very active in past
25-30 years. I have a stash of TTY equipment that the junk man is going
to get out of my estate unless someone is interested enough to rescue to
before I cork off (I am in my 80's, so don't fiddle around!). We are
snowbirds and it is all located in SW Ohio. It will be available after
~ April first or so. A more complete list later... but includes a
28ASR, 19, 14TD, Kleinschmidt tape perf, some rolls of oiled tape, at
rack mount military decoder w/ scope (can't remember the model), HAL
ST-6 and AFSK unit, power supplys for loops, a table for the 19, a
weather basket for a 15/19, a Dovetron for the 28 which has 100 WPM
gears... etc. The desire is that this all be picked up at one time, not
cherry picked, and if the picker-upper does not intent to use it, then
make it available for others. It has been stored in a basement complete
with all the usual bugs, spiders, dust, etc., so don't expect bright and
shiny, but there is no reason with some TLC and penetrating oil all that
stuff should not run. There is probably a lot more misc. stuff like
polar relays, jacks, plugs. This equipment put the first RTTY station
on in VO2 call area in the mid 60's. Contact me if interested, located
SW Ohio, one hour ± from Dayton, Cincinnati, or Columbus and 45 minutes
from "Dayton" hamfest. Will take a van or p/u truck w/ a cap to hold
all of it, plus strong back and two teen agers to load it. I am not
asking anything for it, just the promise it will get pointed in the
right direction of interested (R)TTY'ers.
Doc Bill, W8NTZ (W8NTZ/VO2, HL9PT), on the air 65+ years
