Hello everybody
I just would like to provide you guys with an update from our Stone Mountain Hamfest last weekend at the Gwinnett County Fair-Ground near Atlanta.
I could talk about the great weather we had, the fantastic turnout or the major car accident close to the front gate at the main road. I scipp all that and get straight to the point.
Steve, N4TTY and myself shared a table and demonstrated our beloved HEAVY METAL. I had a 28KSR copying ITTY and showed off my little telegram station (Iron Horse tape perforator, model 14 TD and a 2-B tape printer).
Steve went a different rout and showed how old technology can be used in a very interesting way using modern high-tech. He also used a 28KSR, a Raspberry Pi and John Nagel's interface/loop supply to send text messages (SMS) from his teletype machine to smart phones and visa versa. His setup was definitely a hot-spot, especially with the younger generation.
James, WX4TV from Florida (www.HamRadio.World) was shooting a video of our HEAVY METAL booth and made it avaliable for us on YouTube. Here is the link.

Please note that the title of the YouTube video is not 100% correct. We didn't demonstrate Radio Teletype - but who cares, right?
Nick England, K4NYW was taking pictures of our table again and I am pretty sure that he will post them and provides us with a link pretty soon.
We all had quite a bit fun together - wish we could do this more often to gain more interest in this beautiful hobby.
That's it for now and I hope you guys enjoy the video and hopefully the upcoming pics.
