[GreenKeys] Fwd: 2x teletype sets in Alexandria VA

While I am very local and would like to rescue these items, they’d have to go into an unheated garage, possibly indefinitely.

We get humid summers here and I can’t but expect that those conditions would not be good for them.

Do other folks here keep/restore/operate their equipment under such conditions?

I’ve always assumed a dry, heated, basement or accessory building was a key pre-condition to entering into custodial activities.

And then lots of TLC …

Am I incorrect in the former assumption? The latter clearly goes with the territory …

(Perhaps Paul would put me in touch with “another Greenkeys member” to see what he’s thinking.)

I‘ve been in contact with another Greenkeys member who, worst case, will make sure they are not scrapped and he has already made this known to Richard.

Still hoping somebody “local“ wants them...

I don’t know if anyone has been in contact with this guy directly, but a rescue is needed. I emailed him a couple of days ago and he told me that these are all destined for the scrapyard if they aren't claimed… seemed like he wasn’t too interested in shipping ;o ~

(I'm not subscribed to the list, please reply to me directly, thanks!)

I've got two teletype sets (see attached photo) I inherited from my
father. I have no use for them, and know they've not been powered on in
over 25 years. Quite covered in years of dust.

Anybody local to Alexandria VA interested in them? I've also got a few
spare parts in a small tin.

Thanks,
Richard
