[GreenKeys] Loop power supplies

I am thinking the resistance is around 50 to 100 ohms in the model 15 series of printers depending on the type of magnets and current setting (series or parallel) . They usually drop around 12 volts.
Another good reason for running over 100 volts is that you can plug in and out one more machine or reperf and the current will not change enough to worry about as a general rule if you set the current for only one machine.
The triple will have poor voltage regulation, but that may be a blessing in a way. Set the current to what you want during a closed loop. When the loop opens up you will get a higher voltage. That may help the magnets to pull in faster but still limit the current to a nominal value.
All of that applies to the old 14 and 15 series of machines. I don’t know about the newer ones.
Often a good voltage source will make a poor current source and a good current source will make a poor voltage source.

How much drop is there across the magnets? I assumed they have some DC resistance of their own.
Also, a tripler is not going to have very good voltage regulation...
