Maybe I've not been paying attention, but a couple of words need to be added to the releases
about parts cleaning and equipment cleaning:

DO THIS IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA!

Acetone can be deadly if too much of it gets into your lungs and eventually the bloodstream.
Once it hits the liver, it can cause symptoms that mimic some form of hepatitis. This often
happened to mechanics back in the 'good old days' when Carbon-Tet was available and also
tri-chloro-ethane. These two chemicals were outlawed for general cleaning use for a good
reason!

One of my high-school friends was using carbon-tet (yeah, I'm that old!) when he worked with
fiberglass patching on his car. He became ill and the doctors were treating what they thought
was hepatitis. Once they knew carbon-tet was involved they changed the treatment and he was
'cured' in a few days.

Do as much of this cleaning work out doors or in an open garage if possible. Be cautious in
cold weather! Don't let comfort overrule good sense.

Stay healthy!!

I'm afraid I'm going to have to come down on the
side of ATF and Acetone. It has worked splendidly
for me, if used correctly. There are lots of
on-line testimonials from mechanics about it.
I've never bought an ounce of Kroil and as long as
the ATF/Acetone mixture works, I probably won't.
Not condemning anyone's choice here; just stating
mine. "Each to his own," as they say. 73 Dave S.
