Hi all!

I promise not to beat up this topic any more,
just wanted to share a fact finding mission...

Went on the prowl today to check manufacturer's
of various CFL and LED bulbs,
their warnings/cautions about using their products
as printed on the packaging...

I recall seeing many months ago, a very specfic
warning/caution on a CFL bulb package...

Finally found it, the GE "Reveal" series of CFL's
had the most descriptive and "Honest"
description of possible interference generation...

It has several very specific mentions of Marine
radio-navigation, electronic apparatus in general,
remote control devices and radio communications
in the 430kc to 30mc's spectrum which may be
affected by the use of this product...

I thought this was pretty informative info
from a manufacturer, and of particular interest
to us Hams & SWL'ers...

If you can find any of these products in your
area, well worth the time and effort to read
the entire write up...

It also mentions FCC part 18, which this product
is approved...

Maybe someone can comment on this FCC
part 18, as I had not heard of it...

As far as the newer LED bulbs, have not found
any specific warnings/cautions regarding
RFI printed on the packaging...

I did check several brands with same result...

I will retreat now to the safety and coziness
of my incandescently heated/lighted
radio and Teletype room!

Cheers!

Ken
