Actually, besides the afore mentioned heat source (and spring houses are far
from the only use for that) there are two other things that incandescent
lamps are good for and neither an LED nor a CFL can be used for.  A 100W
lamp was always my choice for tuning up a Command transmitter, and 12W/15W,
25W, 40W and 60W incandescent lamps are quite effective for restoring WW-II
and Korean War vintage NOS vibrators.

    Seems to vary with brand. I have both CFL and LED lamps that 
produce copious RFI and some that are very quiet. The LED in my 
bedroom is near an AM radio and completely blankets it. The lack 
of RFI is the one great advantage of incandescent lamps.
