John,
I am not sure any of these will work with an Android Phone. The USB on
Android Phone or Tablet is usually a device port for connecting it phone.
You can get an OTG cable but then you need software that has Android drivers
for the serial interface you are using. What software were you going to use
on the phone to drive the Model 33? My preference would be for an ESP8266
board so I could connect vi WiFi but it would need a TTL to Current Loop.

Subject: [GreenKeys] USB interface to ASR Mod 33 Teletype
Hi All,
I'm looking at the best way to connect an Android Phone (USB) to a ASR Mod
33 teletype. To the best of my knowledge, I have found 4 possible interface
circuits:
1. http://aetherltd.com/connectingusb.html Connects a Silicon
Laboratories CP2102-EB to a second Teletype to RS-232 board (Designed for
Teletype Model 15 with Baudot)
2. https://trmm.net/Boost_converter uses a Teensy with the Adafruit
DC/DC Boost circuit (last update 15-Aug-2013)
3. http://avitech.com.au/?page_id=318 is a USB Powered Current Loop
Interface (last updated in27-Dec-2014)
4. http://heepy.net/images/8/8b/Usbtty-instructions.pdf /

I'm interested in finding out from people which (if any) people are using
and what is the most resilient (or if there are other solutions I should
look at).
Thanks!
