Hi Wayne; not to be a wise-guy but why don't you just take
the new ribbons off the junky spools and wind them onto the
steel spool that you have?

That's what I do when I have to buy a new ribbon (I have a
re-inker on the 28-KSR and it keeps the ribbons - especially
the nylon ones) going for years and years).
