Welcome to the group.
Are you an amateur radio operator? It is certainly not a requirement, and with several internet based ways to connect TTY equipment, becoming less so. A rather large percentage of us here are however.

Subject: [GreenKeys] An Introduction
Hello, everyone!
I just subscribed today, so I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Evan Jones. I am 18 and live near Waco, TX.
I was introduced to vintage computers and related hardware when I discovered LGR ( a great computer collecting channel on Youtube) a few years ago. I was fascinated! Before I knew it, I was scouring Craig's List for an old system. I ended up getting really lucky when I found an IBM 5160 with a SCSI drive and 640 k of ram for a really good price. I'm hoping to get a XT-IDE card working for it soon. My collection of stuff on my desk also includes 2 Royal typewriters (one 40's and one 50's vintage) that I've tinkered with a little to get them working well.
I don't own any teletype hardware yet, but I would like tinker with one, one day. The "mechanicalness" of teletypes is absolutely beautiful to me! If I ever got one, I would probably primarily use it as a terminal (perhaps with my IBM).
It's great to meet you all!
-Evan Jones
