     See:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hedy_Lamarr
for more.
I knew John Howard Lawson, a screen writer who worked on Hedy's
first Hollywood movie. He told me the first time he met her he thought
she had no personality. The director of photography, James Wong Howe
told him "Wait till the cameras turn". The patent can be found on
Google patents by doing a name search but I think it was issued to her
under her real name.
