[GreenKeys] More troubleshooting help requested: CR/LF combination

Hello again all,
Having identified the problems on my M15, I've made a note of the springs I
will soon order to remedy the issues and have moved on to my M19, which
I've happily found is actually in better shape and has kept better
lubricated than the 15. I've run into just two problems on this one,
though, and I am much more stumped than before and am thus seeking guidance
again.
- The LF key seems to simply advance the carriage forward one space
instead of performing an LF.
- The CR key will perform both a CR and an LF. Once in a while it will
kick off just a CR, but usually an LF is accompanied with it.
I've verified that the LF and CR signals are being sent and received
properly as the vanes and selectors all move to the appropriate mark
positions; also, my M15 on the same loop receives the signals from the M19
just fine.
Also, since a CR kicks off both a CR and an LF, I know that both the CR and
LF mechanisms are functioning just fine as well once they're activated. The
main problem is that I don't want a CR to also perform an LF, and I want to
be able to perform an LF without also performing a CR.
Studying the manuals and diagrams regarding the LF mechanism hasn't shed
much light on what could be the issue. I've compared the LF mechanism on
this machine to the known working one on the M15, and the only difference
that I can find for the LF mechanism is that the function lever is
different between the two: the M19's function lever has a different array
of "teeth" than the M15's, and it also looks like the part of the lever at
the very bottom that engages the push bar is also slightly different,
though I'm honestly unable to describe the difference very well. I may try
taking pictures if I can in that enclosed space.
The CR function lever "teeth" appear to be identical between the two
machines.
This difference has made my wonder if the LF function lever's "teeth" were
designed to purposefully only work in a CR/LF combination for ease of use?
Or perhaps there's some other mechanism installed that I didn't notice that
purposefully causes this. Seems like a bad idea to me since other machines
won't normally have that functionality and would get stuck overprinting at
the end of the line during a multiline transmission. I really have no idea,
though. I'm hoping that's not the case as the function lever array looks
like a formidable unit to attempt to disassemble and reassemble after
replacing the one function lever.
If anyone has any ideas or can perhaps point this amateur to some
documentation that might shed some light on this, I'd be extremely grateful.
Thanks again for the help.
