Hi all!
A bit of chatter lately abt low speed modems,
that wud be useful @110 baud...
This particular modem made by GDC, General
Datacomm, GDC 108-3 not only will run
0-300 baud, but also has DC current terminals
internally to act as an RS-232 to DC convertor...
Can be optioned orginate/answer,
and half/full dux...
We used tons of them on long line
F1/F2 applications, driving a Teletype printer,
usually M28's, they don't however provide
a DC loop supply, it has to be provided externally...
These are a great and reliable low speed modem,
I had three of them many years ago, and wish
I still had them...
They are very scarce and hard to find,
been watching ePay, but they never seem to
turn up...
Wudn't mind to have one, if anyone
is cleaning house...
They were available as stand-alone or rack mounted
versions...
Cheers!
Ken
