Wow,
What a great contest! My biggest challenge was trying to find an open spot to call CQ when I had finished going up the band doing search & pounce. I did have to shut down my M28ASR a couple of times as I think that there is a problem with a clutch on the mainshaft that is hanging up. Letting things settle down and cool off temporarily solved the problem but I will have to pull the LP to see what I can find.
Thanks to Wayne KB1FDW and Steve N4TTY for their QSOs! As it happened, the QSOs were back to back on 40M on Saturday afternoon. Also thanks to Wray AB4SF for his comment"...RRR MACHINE SOUNDS GOOD !!..." on Sunday afternoon.
Other that those QSOs, I ran into John W6LD, on 80M at 0635Z Sunday morning. John was a part of the group at W6YY, the Stanford University Club, running three multi-single operations from the same station. John also operates P40L, the same station that Ed P49X uses to practically dominate each RTTY contest. I also worked Ramon PZ5RA which was special. I first worked Ramon in the late 1960s on RTTY and it was great to see that he is still contesting. The last fun fact was getting called by Barry ZS2EZ from South Africa on 40M.
I am still working to convert my roll of paper, see attached picture, into something electronic, so I don't know my totals but I do know that I was able to get 5 of the 6 continents, missed Asia, during this test.
Thanks 73
