Mixing up internet Top Level Domains and Amateur Radio prefix locations.  Since this discussion is about amateur radio, I would assume that was the reference in the original post.
 
HMA-HMZ is Democratic People's Republic of North Korea (along with P5A-P9Z)

Nope; the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea (which is neither 
democratic nor a republic, and it sure as hell isn't run by the people) is 
.KP (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.kp).
