Nick has a good write up about it on his site;
http://www.virhistory.com/navy/rtty-02.htm
These are capable of 170 Hz shift and were originally used with two
R-388 Collins receivers. The Army version (identical) was used in the
mobile comms setup GRC-26A. This one was built in 1946. Big and heavy!
I have one in nice, original condition and even have a spare, full set of the
hermetically sealed filters. Open to interesting swaps, preferably
HF equipment. New or old. Located in Santa Rosa, CA where it needs
to be picked up.
