Well, there is a guy in Germany who developed something interesting for the iTelex system - he makes German weather forecast available. If that is possible, than, I guess, it wouldn't be a big deal for the right person to develop a permanent online feed for our teletype machines.
Subjects could be:
- news in general
- weather by regions
- technology, especially NASA
- sports and culture
The list could be endless !
Yes, we have ITTY and I enjoy it a lot, I mean a lot. A big THANK YOU to all the people who developed the system and of course a big THANK YOU to the maintenance crew of ITTY 24/7.
But there could be more. I am pretty certain that the teletype world will grow this way and users will make lots of noise.
The only challenge:
Who is knowledgeable enough to develop something like that and who has the spare time - it could be a very time consuming project.

Thanks for all the replies! I’m going to have to comb through all of these, once I have a pause in getting my base station antenna up (having nice weather right now)…
One thing that I wish I could see - one that I would love to see on the software side, is a application that would take the NWS RSS watch/warning feed for a given county in the U.S., automatically refresh the feed every minute or so and hammer out onto the teletype whenever watch or warning would pop up (typing each only once - based on the unique watch/warning ID and only the text contained within the warning - not the extra RSS stuff). Bonus points for three bells at the beginning of every message! Sadly, there aren’t that many apps out there that can do that… and hardly any apps at all for Teletypes. Too bad most aren’t made for Macs, also…..
(hardly any apps will do an automatic refresh on anything, from what I can tell - I could be wrong… but it would be nice to see an app that allows a Teletype to become a realtime information gathering machine again and not just an “if and when” type of thing~)
