[GreenKeys] Model 29?

Many years ago, Gordon White’s CQ Magazine RTTY Surplus Sidelights column
mentioned that a Model 29 was an 8-level 28, and a Model 34 was a 5-level 35.
I believe the 29 was actually an EBCDIC machine of some sort. The 34
was just a 28 in a 35’s “clothing”. Somewhere out in TTY land there is
a Model 34 that I built up and sold off to someone.
A 35ASR keyboard could easily be adapted to fit into a Model 28 cabinet
and keyboard frame. Adapting the TD would take a little work.

Ralph,
If you click on any picture, there are arrows on the top to browse through the rest of the pictures.
The last picture is a good one of the tape. It looks like two holes to the left of the feed holes and three to the right.
Also, look at the third picture at the top of the page: the keyboard. It looks like a standard keyboard, but you can see that there are slots for more keys. Compare that with the picture (Figure 2) in the Teletypesetter manual of its keyboard. there are a lot of extra keys on each side of the standard keys.

At least two 'slides' from the slideshow show a six level tape in a TD gate. I believe that this is
as indicated, a Teletypsetting machine. I don't remember just how I stumbled onto the Slideshow,
but I went though it and toward the end, those 'slides' showed six holes, three on either side of
the feed hole. The machine has many Model 19 parts, but some extra for typesetting.

The slide show includes a Teletypesetter manual, but all the pictures of
the machine keyboard and tape show a 5-bit machine.
Buyer beware!
have fun,
