Lucas Red-N-Tacky grease. About $3-$5 for a 14-ounce tube.
It's a very tacky lithium grease. I use regular white lithium grease
on all the other points where the manual says to grease.
Someone else pointed out a problem with white lithium grease drying
out. There are lithium greases with different base lubricants.
The DuPont Teflon version ought to be OK, but I haven't tried it.

Yes. Whatever you use, it can't have any heavy fractions, or when
it evaporates, gunk will be left behind and will jam the machine.
Cleaning that up can take weeks of disassembling, cleaning, and
adjusting. Full synthetic motor oil is all one molecular weight.
No heavy fractions. About $8 for a quart.
These are all standard auto parts store items, and available
from Amazon, Home Depot, etc. I've used these on five Teletype
machines in the last eight years, with no problems.
