Ralph:

Seems like I created a monster! Some people seem to have no problems, while for others it’s a complete disaster.

Here are the process steps I used to create this Frankenstein.

1 - Original broadcast from ITTY Autostart channel

Computer headphone output, line-in Sony TC-758, line-out Sony TC-758, audio-in Infotech M-200F, M28KSR

2 - Printed 6 copies of the calendar from the Sony TC-758

Line-out Sony TC-758, audio-in Infotech M-200F, M28KSR

3 - Converted Sony TC-758 recording to MP3 format, uploaded to YouTube

4 - Printed 3 copies of the calendar from YouTube

Computer headphone output, audio-in Infotech M-200F, M28KSR

5 - Converted Sony TC-758 recording to WAV format, uploaded MP3 & WAV formats to “Dropbox”

6 - Printed 1 copy each of the MP3 & WAV files uploaded to “Dropbox”

Computer headphone output, audio-in Infotech M-200F, M28KSR

It appears what I created is very unforgiving of the vast number of variations and configurations of hardware, software and the machines themselves.

I will try to figure this out over the weekend so the next time I try to do something helpful, it will actually BE useful to a greater number of people.

My son Ryan says I am the Grinch that stole Christmas from GreenKeys!

I told him to be careful, or this Grinch will help him setup his new Xbox-One X.

Cheers,

Steve

I made a direct connection from my Headphone out jack on the iMac to the input of my Dovetron,

and another 'direct connection' from the Loop output of the Dovetron to the printer, and got

nothing but garbage in all of the various settings of Input Gain, Threshold, etc. Got best looking

Mark & Space indications on the display, also.

Tried Forward and Reverse, and ran off about four feet of paper in the process. Several 'pileups' on

the right margin, and several lines with just a few characters showing. A few blank lines.

Last year or whenever it was sent, I successfully copied a string of Christmas Images with the

identical setup. With the success you are having I will assume that the problem lies on my end, but

am very curious. My MARK is tuned VERY close to 2125 on the panel dial and SPACE VERY

close to 2295. Widest indications on the display then.

I also fiddled with the audio out setting from the computer. Made a difference but only in the

particular form of 'garbage' being generated.

I have also used this setup copying directly from ITTY.

Most puzzling. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Machine is a 28KSR in a tabletop cabinet. I'm bypassing everything in the LESU and have a cable

with a mating connector for the Printer on one end and a 1/4" plug on the other end. NO wiring in

the machine is involved.

Thanks for your time and effort on this. Just hope I can find out where my weak point is.

73 & Merry Christmas!!
