[GreenKeys] A model 28 reperforator as a start?

Wow Nick you’ve got good eyes! You can see a gear shift in that quick 6 sec video. At least we know it can print blanks while running open.

Not sure how much good this might be on i-Telex as it is RO, so no keyboard and you’d sure use up a lot of tape carrying on QSOs.

It appears to be a 5-level machine which uses 11/16" tape and regular Underwood 1/2" ribbon. The biggest issue about printing is the plastic print hammer head that has disintegrated on 90% of the machines it seems. Early units used a steel-headed hammer. There are no plastic head replacements available. But from the photo it looks like it was printing the correct "blank" marks (something like //) between the sprocket feed holes so printing may be OK.

Some notes from looking at the eBay listing -

This is not a TT-192A/UG which is a miniature unit with smaller motor and the tape reel on top rather than the side. It appears to be a commercial 28ROTR rather than a military one (which would be gray).

It has a fully-perforated punch, but no vacuum and chad bag assembly which means it will spit chad out the bottom (and pile chad up above the punch holes which always causes me a pain when trying to insert a new tape).

It has a 3-speed gear shift which is *probably* 75wpm, 100wpm, and 60wpm - but I can't tell from the photos. I guess your AC mains freq converter could adjust it to 66wpm for I-Telex, but I have no experience with that. Best to ask for a photo of the gearshift - maybe you'll get lucky!

The price seems high to me, but I am spoiled having gotten many machines for free or the cost of shipping - Many Thanks to Greenkeyers!

Hello Everybody.

I did find this little gem on ebay, and I'm thingking on buying it.
Now, I live in Europe, so frequence and voltage are different.
Not a real problem, as a step down transformer will solve the voltage,
and a frequence converter will do the rest.

But I would like to know what kind of paper tape it uses (the same
as the papertype used in regular telex machines?
And what about the ribbon, just standard underwood type?
Last but not least, would this work with i-telex as well?

The link I got from the vendor showing the machine working:
