Hi all!
This is indeed an "Interesting" M32 ASR Telex version...
This appears to be a built in Canada unit,
probably by Marsland Industries...
This has the two colour ribbon mech.,
later style UCC assembly...
On close examination, one can see
the SMD card is factory stamped
40ma, and has the latest style
driver transistor installed on the board...
The board has the part number
preceeded by "PV", a positive indication
of Canadian origin...
I have seen similar units on a British website,
leading me to suspect these machines
were orginally supplied for European
customers...
The "Blank" key was never used in either
Canadian or American Telex service...
The two colour printing mech was pbly
triggered by upper case "F" or "G" (Characters
not normally used in Telex service)...
Another interesting observation
is the one-piece cast aluminum base pan...
Domestic units sold in Canada
had a three piece base assembly,
being separate punch, and TD bolted to
the main base casting...
Marsland, and later, Leigh instruments never
used a stamped base pan...
The rotary dial head appears to be the Japanese
style used by the Canadian manufacturers...
The call control unit plug in cable connectors
are stamped in wide style black printing,
the metal chassis is also the "Gold" colour
andodized finish...
Cheers!
Ken
