Thanks Sam,

I think its rather a pretty book. I just ran it through the scanner on the
Brother MFC J5320DW. I bought the machine because it would print A3 but the
scanner on it has proved a real gem. 
This manual was stapled so I had to scan each page but for many tasks the
sheet feeder works well...
.. the start/stop mechanism on the Creed 47 is interesting. It uses a single
switch with lots of mechanical interlocks ,  an autostart, and a turn off on
spacing chatter...
... I am not surprised it was disconnected.
