I found this listing on Ebay for an Atlantic Research DMS-3 Distortion Test
Set.

These are used to test bias and distortion on Teletype circuits.  It was the
tool of choice

of TTY repairmen "in the day".   The meter uses a 22.5VDC battery which is
not readily

available in the exact form factor needed for the meter. But there are other
22.5VDC batteries

that would fit inside. I've use two 9VDC batteries in series and it seems to
work OK.

 

This set is useful for adjusting the contacts on Model 28 "signal
generators" (keyboards and TD's) and

testing distortion from 14 TD's, 15 keyboards, and so on.  CAUTION.the old
saying ".if it works

don't fix it", applies here in regards to "testing" TTY's!
