Trying not to stray too far off topic but desperately seeking any
documentation (particularly a service manual) for the Texas Instruments
Silent 700 model 787 thermal printing portable data terminal. I figure
the fine folks on this list may have encountered this beast in their
travels.

This is one of the last generation of TI's Silent 700s that can do a
whopping 120cps and has an internal direct connect modem that does Bell
103, 212A and Vadic modulation.

I recently acquired one-- saved it really-- from the dirt floor of
a garage. It has cleaned up pretty well and I'm soon to put power to it.

I'm looking for any documentation that would discuss the DB25 connector
on the back where a direct connect RS232 interface exists and the ability
to choose this external serial connection or the internal modem.

So far, all my web searching has come up empty. I have other models
of Silent 700, 1st and 2nd generation, for which I have all the
documentation but this one seems to be a little more secretive. I find a
lot of Boeing 787 stuff but that's a very different piece of equipment ;-)

Happy to cover copying and shipping charges, scanning service or whatever
might be required to obtain the docs for this terminal.

Also, if anyone knows who inherited TI's data terminal business, I may
have to pursue that path in this quest.

Thanks and 73, Chris NØJCF
