[GreenKeys] Some thoughts on ITTY, AUTO and EUROPE

Hi Gang:
 
To all on Greenkeyers - and others - who have been following ITTY,
Autostart and Greenwich/Europe on line for so long, it is with a
heavy heart that I must report that George (W7TTY) Hutchison has
decided to retire on continuing transmitting from Sequim, Washington
due to health problems that preclude his continuing the day to day
operations.
 
And a big tip 'o the hat to Bill (K7TTY) Bytheway who wrote (is this
the right word?) the original ITTY program, and made this all
possible.
 
Just for information, I have been with George since the inception of
ITTY MANY years ago - we figure at least 15 years worth.
 
To put that into perspective, with an average of 500 stories a
month, it's 90,000 stories, jokes and commentaries since the
beginning.
 
Except for a few short outages, it has been going 24/7 for our
enjoyment. It has also kept the paper, ink, oil and grease companies
in business. Speaking of which - what kind of oil and grease should
I be using? LOL
 
Also this could not have happened without the support of people who
have contributed items to ITTY - our most staunch contributor,
Wayne (WB0CTE) Letourneau who is from the far reaches of frozen
Minnesota. I always enjoyed his Ole & Sven jokes interspersed among
the lutefisk tales in between his news stories.
 
And to the others: Ones that come to mind is Don (K9TTY) House, John
O'Rear, James Tanton to name just a few over the years. I know there
were others, but at the moment their names escape me. If I missed
anyone I apologize and I get 30 lashes with the 11/16" tape. :-)
 
Now for the good news: George has most graciously handed over the
reins of ITTY Etc. to Paul (W2TTY) Heller in Arvada, Colorado who
has taken up the torch to continue George's legacy with ITTY Etc. I
have worked with Paul to remove any bugs or problems during the
transition and it seems he will continue in George's footsteps into
the future.
 
Again, thanks to all for making ITTY a reality and most importantly,
to -YOU- the listeners who have supported George through the years.
