Funny, the C-64 will do it! =p

But yes, that would be a sticking point for me and my lone M15. Time to
start checking datasheets for legacy UARTS...

Then again, there's no reason not to use the PC parallel port for this
function. We'd need to emulate a UART in software, which would be no
problem at all at such low speeds. And most any machine has a parallel
port, and if not, USB-to-parallel converters are very inexpensive on eBay,
around $2.50 US.

This may well be the best way to handle it, no need for COM cards, just a
simple custom cable to connect the parport to the loop converter should do
the job.
