At the start of WW-II Teletype Corp. was told that this war would be 
fought by telephone, and that Teletype's products would not be needed.
So Teletype got a contract to make machine gun parts.  But before any
had been made they got an urgent call from the Signal Corps telling them
the previous advice was mistaken, and to make as much Teletype equipment 
as possible.
