[GreenKeys] National Cash Register TT-4A TG

Not to get to far off topic, the venerable M1911A1 (.45 pistol) was manufactured by different contractors. The most desirable one was made by The Union Switch and Signal Co. of Rochester, NY. They made - make - signals for railroads.
Lionel model trains made naval compasses, and telegraph keys.

Very interesting. That's a cute little machine. I know that NCR mfr'd the US Navy's version of Turing's "Bombe" during WWII, so, that may have been their entry point into these kinds of machines...
Apparently, there was a lot of contract mfr'ing going on during the war. FoMoCo made B-24's at Willow Run, and I have a WWII-era M-1 Carbine that's stamped "Rock-Ola." Your "Wurlitzer" comment reminded me of that last one.
Cheers,
Keith

I've been watching this one go through cycles of not being sold for a few weeks now.
The more models I see come and go on eBay and elsewhere, the more surprised I am at some of the companies who manufactured some of these machines. I had no clue National Cash Register had their fingers in the teletype industry. Next I'll see a Wurlitzer or a Steinway.
Changing topic a little bit, having vastly overpaid for my machines in the past, this one is actually not a bad deal, assuming shipping is actually that low. It looks to be in pretty good shape inside and out as far as the pictures go. I'm a little too tempted to get this one, but my wife and I have made a pact to be more frugal for the next year as we're building a house and want to have as much cash on hand as possible.
"But what will we put in our nice big house if not this very nice and good looking piece of art and history?! And keep in mind what I spent on some of the others-- this is practically a steal!" I cry.
I knew I was overpaying my machines, but it seems the only machines that come up in local sales are on either coast, never within even three or four hundred miles of my location. I know a lot of you have mentioned grabbing machines for $100 or even less much of the time, but I have not yet had that luxury.
