I've been watching this one go through cycles of not being sold for a few
weeks now.

The more models I see come and go on eBay and elsewhere, the more surprised
I am at some of the companies who manufactured some of these machines. I
had no clue National Cash Register had their fingers in the teletype
industry. Next I'll see a Wurlitzer or a Steinway.

Changing topic a little bit, having vastly overpaid for my machines in the
past, this one is actually not a bad deal, assuming shipping is actually
that low. It looks to be in pretty good shape inside and out as far as the
pictures go. I'm a little too tempted to get this one, but my wife and I
have made a pact to be more frugal for the next year as we're building a
house and want to have as much cash on hand as possible.

"But what will we *put *in our nice big house if not this very nice and
good looking piece of art and history?! And keep in mind what I spent on
some of the others-- this is practically a steal!" I cry.

I knew I was overpaying my machines, but it seems the only machines that
come up in local sales are on either coast, never within even three or four
hundred miles of my location. I know a lot of you have mentioned grabbing
machines for $100 or even less much of the time, but I have not yet had
that luxury.
