GA OMs;

When I worked for Data General Corp we used the 33-ASR
as a master console. Usually they didn't get that much
use - but when you had to load the binary tapes that took
AN HOUR, it was no surprise to anyone when the tape didn't
stop at the end of data - which meant that it took a parity
error and you had to run it again.

Although ONE parity error at 110 Baud for an HOUR sounds
like "so what!", well - the computer didn't think so - or
did the customer.

I'd clean the contacts, and sometimes that helped but more
often than not it was hit-or-miss.

Finally we had to swap it out.

I wound-up getting a close to brand-new 33-ASR that we
just couldn't get the reader to read a tape for an hour.

Of course, it broke my heart to have that 33-ASR in my
radio shack...
