From my limited experience with Craigslist, a $1 figure is usually treated the same as a
question mark. The seller has no clue as to possible value, and will usually listen to
offers. I suspect that early in the game, any 'dollar offers' will be ignored, or put on
the bottom of a list, if one is created.
If it is within your reach to visit or purchase, make an offer in the $25 to $50 range, and
indicate you won't be offended by a counteroffer. If it has been sitting around for 20 years,
no matter how pretty it is in the photo, it will require some time and energy, and perhaps a
few bucks to get it in reliable running condition. Once running, it will be a useful interface
to older "Mini-Computers" etc., and a great item for the current iTelex system of GreenKeys
members.
Just a thought.
