Hi all!

Thank you George for the very interesting and useful
Info he provided for us...

Folks, listen to this man!

I have worked on the early Teletype equipment since 1967,
and it just can't be said any better...

In our shop there was little tolerance for "Recalls",
especially, if the customer was located far away...

As such, the shop "Supervisor" was not a fun kind of
man to deal with...

Especially, being the "New kid on the block",
there was a lot of pressure to learn quickly,
and take pride in the quality of your work...

I cannot agree more with what George has said
about the servicing aspects of the older machines...

His message is well worth of being printed out
and placed in a conspicuous place on the wall of
our "Shacks" to be a motivational inspiration
to properly care for our treasured machines...

George's cautionary note regarding the typewheel
clutch on the Model 26 is of prime importance to those
who have and operate these "Different" machines...

If you break a stop arm latch from over tensioning
clutch torque, you have a big problem...

Likely very difficult to get a replacement part...

The old 5A stock tickers used a similar stop arm
latch set-up, with the same results...

Thank you George for a great insightful article
on these important aspects of proper Teletype
servicing...

Good reading for all!

Cheers!
