I'm a bit out of the loop on the iTelex thing, but another Greenkeyer has drawn my attention to it enough to pique my interest.
I've been roaming the translated version of i-telex.net, and looking at the hardware required to get on the network, and I was a bit surprised to see a ST-6 style of build with multiple cards and a backplane. Is there a Steve Wozniak style "do it all in software" implementation of the hardware? Seems to me a Rasberry Pi connected to a RS-232 60mA loop adapter would be the only required hardware, the rest of the brains being implemented in software.
Or am I missing something (I usually am)...
