[GreenKeys] Model 28 misprinting

My 28 has started misprinting.  On local loop with keyboard or off the TU.  Instead of an E, it often prints Z.  Of course it prints Z just fine when I type Z. Seems to do the same transposition with other letter pairs adjacent to each other horizontally on the left side of the type box. It's not the range finder, I've checked that.  When doing the E-Z thing, if I enter any other character between E and Z, it prints them all fine. It's like something in the code bars is not getting cleared after printing the E/Z.  One clue:  it prints fine for about the first couple of lines then starts substituting Z for E, like something is warming up. Another clue:  when I opened the cabinet, I found a very tiny spring laying on the felt pad.  Probably popped off somewhere?   Have been through the drawings and maintenance book trying to find where this little spring may have been, but everything seems to be in its place.
