Makes you want to cry, doesn't it, Jim?!

I used to print out PIREPS, news, weather, etc.

I also had a dedicated rig on 14.075 MHz.

The world of RTTY is pretty-much dead.

I have basically 2 sources for receiving RTTY:

o There is a site you can connect to that is sending RTTY text.
Since I'm running LINUX, the way I connect may not help - but
some of the other guys can tell you what program to use under
Windows that will allow you to receive the 170 Hz shift tones
and run them into the MODEM.

o I download weather from the NWS and then I use a program I
wrote to send it to the Teletype machines. I have one machine
set up with the weather symbol typebox (28-RO) and can watch
   the weather print out.

Welcome to the group. There are A LOT of interesting guys on here
and the collective knowledge of the group is quite impressive!

Back in my day we didn't have virtual reality or
video games. If an axe-wielding one-eyed razorback
barbarian warrior was chasing after you, you just
had to hope you could outrun him.
